Details
Project management, design coordination and supervision of Beit Shulamit, a 20,000 sq m cancer center at Emek Medical Center, Afula, for Clalit Health Services. The building brings oncology and hematology care under one roof: a radiotherapy institute with linear accelerators and brachytherapy rooms, an imaging center (CT), clinics and day-treatment halls, a pediatric day-care unit, inpatient wards, a cytotoxic pharmacy, a well-being center, an auditorium and a cancer research institute run jointly with the Technion.
Highlight
Elements
Beit Shulamit was designed around the people it serves. Working closely with the architects and engineers, we coordinated every detail - from the curved facade to the treatment halls - to deliver a calm, light-filled place of care.
Unique Finishes Details
Curved facades wrapped in vertical fins and shading pergolas, a staircase suspended in the glazed lobby and wood ceilings in the public areas - complex details executed to the architects’ exacting design.
Landscape
Planted terraces, inner courtyards and a water garden surround the building, giving patients and their families calm, accessible open spaces.
Cancer Research Institute
A cancer research institute operated jointly by Emek Medical Center and the Technion, with laboratory areas served by dedicated ventilation, electrical and communication infrastructure.
